Ballet/Pointe

The ballet program at DDI places emphasis on teaching proper ballet technique. Developing a strong technical foundation will enable the student to make continual progress. DDI does not sacrifice the education of a student to teach “a dance.” In order to cover all the elements of ballet the older students take a longer class. Students will perform in the Winter Showcase in December and the formal end of season Recital in June.

Dancers working towards and in our Intensive Training Program take multiple weekly classes and are eligible to audition for our affiliated non-profit Ballet Company, The Wake Forest Youth Ballet. Only dancers training in our Intensive Training Program are eligible to be evaluated to train and perform on Pointe.

All level classes for students ages 6-8 are 1 hour long. 9-12 yr old A level classes are 1 hour long. 9-12 yr old B level and 13 & up yr old classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
