Potty Training:

-4-5 year old group should be fully potty trained.
-3 year old group should be in a pull-up and actively working on potty training.

Attire & Belongings:

-We encourage our students to dress comfortably as there will be dance and tumbling throughout the week.
-Please pack an emergency change of clothes in their bags. Clothes should be changed out seasonally and sealed in a plastic bag with their name on it.
-Please label ALL items with your child’s name (water bottle, backpack, lunch bag, etc.)
-Shoes are not able to be worn in the dance studio

Food/Drinks:

-We will only be having a snack during our day, so please pack food accordingly.
-Please ONLY bring water to school; we cannot have any other type of liquid beverage around the dance floors.
-For holiday parties, we will send out a sign up sheet for special snacks.
-Parents can coordinate special birthday snacks with their child’s teacher.

Drop off & Pick up Routine:

-Parents will walk their student into the building, help them to their cubbies and pass off student to teacher.
-Parents will pick up from carline at 12 by driving around Over the Falls to the back of our building.

Communication:

Parents and staff will primarily communicate through text and email. Parents will be invited to download the free ClassTag App for easy communication with staff. Teachers will also use the ClassTag App to occasionally share pictures and videos with the parents.

Inclement Weather:

DDI will be closed if the weather is dangerous.  If the weather is questionable, call the studio or check our website for closing information.  We do not follow any particular school district closings.

Withdrawal:

Withdrawal from class must be emailed to info@destinydanceinstitute.com by the fifth of the month prior to dropping. If notified after the fifth, the next month’s tuition will be charged. You will be held responsible for all tuition and fees due until proper withdrawal has been submitted.

Late Arrival and Departure Policy:

Children should arrive at the appropriate time in order to transition into the classroom with the other students and begin their class routine. It is also important that your child is picked up on time. Children do not understand why their parent is not there when all the other children have been picked up.

If you are ten minutes late picking up your child, there will be a $5.00 fee charged. For every minute past ten minutes, there will be an additional $1 charged. This fee is added to your account at the time of pickup and will be due with your following month’s tuition.  If there are special circumstances that cause you to be late, feel free to talk with the Director or the Assistant Director.

Discipline and Behavior Management:

Teachers will always focus on re-direction as well as understanding the behavior and how to make better choices. Staff will never use physical disciplinary measures whatsoever. If these tactics do not work, teachers will supervise a short time-out period. The child will have a seat for a short period of time, away from the classroom activity, but within teacher’s sight. After time-out, the teacher will discuss behavior and the child will rejoin the class activity.
Teachers will notify parents if further action is needed.
