Elisabeth Smith

At the age of 13, Elisabeth took her first ballet class and fell in love. Since then she has furthered her dance education at private studios, conservatories, workshops, master classes, and at the collegiate level. Elisabeth holds a BFA in Dance Performance with a concentration in ballet from East Carolina University. She has had the opportunity to study with David Dorfmann, Mark Haim, Maribel Modroño, Galina Panova, Doug Varone, Rachel White, the Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and Lazar Ballet. Elisabeth also gained her certification in Acrobatic Arts in 2017.

For the past 18 years, Elisabeth has gained instructor experience at studios in both North Carolina and Ohio. These studios range from recreational to competitive to pre-professional. Her personal goal is to provide technical and engaging dance instruction and choreography to dancers of all ages, with a focus on encouraging others to find expression and self-confidence in dance. During her 5 years in Cleveland she served as a ballet director and enjoyed setting original choreography for annual spring ballets.

Elisabeth is currently a lead teacher at Construction Kids Preschool. Outside of work, she loves family time. She and her husband, Ben, have two little ones as well as a dog and a cat. Her hobbies include knitting, pilates, and hiking.
