Before COVID, Jasmine Stanley was professionally dancing, touring, teaching, and engaging in communities through arts activism as a company member and the Community Engagement Coordinator for CONTRA-TIEMPO Activist Dance Theater. She is an alumna of Destiny Dance Institute’s Ballet, Jazz, and Hip-hop companies. Stanley holds a B.A. in dance and a B.S. in biology at Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. Stanley moved to Los Angeles in 2017 where she began working for CONTRA-TIEMPO. In March, Stanley moved back to North Carolina and has continued to teach and perform virtually, while also working with other artists and community members in the RDU area to promote equity. Other dance credits include Stevie Wonder, Special Olympics World Games, Disney’s California Adventure Park Viva Navidad Parade, Shaunte Usual, Joe Brown’s Stroll Groove, Las Cafeteras, and LA Fashion Week.
