Lisa Larson holds a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Dance from Brigham Young University-Idaho. While a student at Brigham Young University, Lisa trained in modern dance and ballet and was a member of Brigham Young University’s Modern Dance Company – Contemporary Dance Theatre. As part of BYU’s Modern dance company, Lisa had the opportunity to study under distinguished master teachers and guest choreographers, and participated in the American College Dance Festival each year in Bellevue, Washington. Lisa has over 13 years of studio teaching experience and has taught modern, hip hop, jazz, ballet and creative movement.
Her dedication to education extends beyond the dance floor; prior to joining Destiny Dance Institute, she shared her passion for teaching as a 3rd grade teacher at Heritage Elementary and Sanford Creek. Miss Lisa has two teenage daughters who also dance with us at Destiny Dance Institute. Lisa especially enjoys teaching preschool age students. Her love of children combined with her love of dance and movement makes her classes fun and engaging for our youngest dancers. She firmly believes that igniting a love for dance in children at a young age cultivates a lifelong passion. She is also involved in Destiny Dance Institute’s preschool program, the I Can Club.
